Real Detroit Weekly article about Delux lounge

by Alysa Zavala

It usually goes without saying that when a bar's got a line out the door, stretching around the block and an absolutely jam-packed interior on any given night, it's going to be bowl-over impressive. Delux is no exception to that rule.

Situated in Greektown, just a stone's throw from the city's stadiums, a casino and more attractions than we've got room to list, this bar and lounge has something a little more to offer than just your average drinkery. A throwback, old school style lounge, Delux manages to remain a class act despite often packing in shoulder-to-shoulder crowds.

"We're really in a prime location," says bartender and bombshell babe Frankie Hammond. "We're within walking distance from everything in Greektown."

Offering free shuttles to not just games, but all major downtown events, this really is the perfect place to stop before or after –or both– whatever activity baited you into the city. They offer some of the most competitive game day deals in town as well, serving up $2 Miller Lite, $2 Miller Highlife and $2 Molson, probably the cheapest prices you're going to find anywhere north of Downriver.

"It's almost like it's two different bars on week nights and weekends," she says. "On the weekend's it just packed with a young crowd. The DJs play Top 40 music, there's at least 30 bachelorette parties here a week, I swear. But during the week it's a lot of industry people. It's very chill."
